W.E.A.V.E. (Women Escaping a Violent Environment)

The 6th Annual High Sierra STAR B Q, sponsored by the Northern and Central California Chapters of STAR Touring and Riding, will be held June 6 and 7, 2008 at Nugget in Sparks, Nevada. We are asking your support in the form of donations of gifts, gift certificates, or raffle prizes to be used at our raffle, live auction, and silent auction.
STAR Touring and Riding is a family oriented motorcycle association whose mission is to pursue, promote and protect the interests of motorcyclists; to develop better and more enthusiastic relations between the general public, the media and the operators and riders of motorcycles; to encourage rider participation in events; to promote motorcycle safety and camaraderie among members; to promote organized events; and in general, perform them in a lawful manner.
All proceeds from the event will benefit WEAVE, Women Escaping A Violent Environment. This organization was selected due to the fact that only 3% of their income is spent on administrative costs – the rest of the money goes directly to programs that benefit women and their children. In 2006, we were able to present them with a check for $5000, and we hope to do the same in 2007.
High Sierra STAR B Q is registered with the State of California as an Unincorporated Nonprofit Association, Registration Number 9223. Our Federal Tax ID number is 20-0794645. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please consult your tax professional.
